Installation Guide for Stone Harmonia Natural Thin Flexible Stone

Pre-Installation Requirements

Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is flat, solid, and free from dust and debris.

• Any loose particles or uneven areas should be addressed before installation.

Temperature Conditions

• The recommended installation temperature is above 50°F (10°C).

• In cold conditions, a heat gun can be used to expedite flattening.

Required Tools & Materials

• Cutting: Use a track saw with a guide rail and diamond blade, or an angle grinder with a diamond blade and a construction vacuum for dust extraction.

• Adhesive: Use qualified adhesives for standard applications and waterproof adhesives for wet or outdoor environments.

• Other tools: Measuring tape, pencil, pressure roller, masking tape, and metal trims (if needed).

Installation Steps

Unboxing & Preparation

• Remove the stone slabs from packaging.

• Allow them to lay flat.

• Slight flaking of the stone surface is normal duringunboxing and installation.

Measurement & Cutting

• Mark the required dimensions on the Natural Thin Flexible Stone backing.

• Cut precisely using a circular or track saw with a diamond blade, placing the slab face down.

Surface Cleaning & Masking

• Wipe down the installation surface to remove dust or debris.

• Use masking tape along the edges of the slabs to prevent adhesive overflow.

Adhesive Application

• Evenly apply the adhesive to the back of the stone or/and directly onto the surface, following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions for each specific case.

• For translucent Natural Thin Flexible Stone, use a compatible adhesive that allows light transmission.

Placement & Bonding

• Position the stone slabs and press firmly against the surface.

• Use a pressure roller to ensure maximum adhesion and remove air pockets.

Grout & Finishing (Optional)

• If grout is used, leave a 1/16" to 1/8" gap for clean application.

• A silicone-based grout is recommended for flexibility and durability.

• Remove masking tape once grout is applied and cured.

Drying & Curing

• Allow the adhesive to cure for 24-48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity levels.

Completion

• Inspect the installation for alignment and finishing.

• Wipe the surface clean to remove any remaining dust or adhesive residue.

Surface Impregnation with Protective Hydrophobic Treatment Sealer.

• Apply the protective impregnation to a sample of the stone (there are treatments that enhance color and change the stone’s appearance, and others that do not, depending on the task). Allow it to dry and ensure the result meets your expectations.

• Apply the impregnation using a short-pile roller, spreading it evenly across the entire surface in one direction.

• Allow the impregnation to dry for 12-24 hours until fully dried.

• Reapply the sealer once water begins to absorb into the stone.
